Director's Welcome Message

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at the Plattsmouth Early Childhood Center!   We are excited to renew relationships with our returning children and families and to welcome new children and families to our community.

At PECC, we believe that families are the first and most important teachers in a child's life!  Our goal is to partner with families in supporting the development of their young children.  We encourage families to take advantage of a variety of opportunities to support and participate in our programs.  Some of these opportunities include home visits and parent conferences, volunteering in the classroom, participating in parent meetings and providing ideas and input to support our Head Start program through the Head Start policy council.  We exist to support and nurture family efforts.

Our preschool program offers hands-on, developmentally appropriate instruction that encompass a variety of skills necessary for whole-child development & early learning.  Our early learning environment is structured, but allows for and fosters self-directed learning.  We believe that children have specific, individual needs and we work diligently to find the best methods for reaching each individual child. Our daily schedule offers opportunities for learning through play and exploration with a focus on language/literacy, math, science, fine/gross motor, and social/emotional skills.

We are dedicated to providing children with positive early experiences to create a community of lifelong learners!
